New Helicopter for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance received a cheque for £4,500 donated from the Rotary Club of Taunton. Speaking on behalf of the Club, President Elect Ian Ramus praised the work of the Charity: “The work of the Air Ambulance is a critical service, especially in our rural community and we were delighted to be able to make a donation.”
At the end of this year, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will be replacing its EC135 helicopter with an AgustaWestland 169. The larger and more powerful aircraft will enable the Critical Care Team to have better access to treat patients during flight and to also conduct night operations.
President Rachel Davies said that the Club was now much better informed after a talk from Debbie Birtwisle, Fundraising Co-ordinator.
